Have a gourd time at the Minnesota Tool Library's 8th Annual Pumpkins & PowerDrills fall fundraiser!

This family-friendly event is a great way to get those jack-o-lanterns ready for Halloween without making a mess in your kitchen. Plus, the great pumpkin-gutting is much more fun when done with power-tools!

The event is FREE - but we hope you'll consider making a donation and/or purchasing pumpkins to support MTL!
Plus, you can enjoy the spooktacular beverages and tasty fare from our hosts while you carve.
*Pre-registration is appreciated, so we don't pick up too many pumpkins at the patch... but feel free to pop-in too!

P&P FAQ's:
How much are Pumpkins? Our big 'ole locally sourced pumpkins are $8 Each or 3 for $20

Support a local farmer and your local tool library by purchasing directly from us!

What forms of payment do you accept? Cash and Check are gourd, since we don't have to rock any processing fees; but we also accept credit.
(No Apple Pay or CashApps - just good 'ole swipping : )

Can my kids use the power tools? You betcha! We have volunteers on hand to help keep a general eye out for safety and support individuals who may not be as familiar with certain tools (both littles and adults).

Do you need volunteers? Always. You can sign-up to help with the event here.

Can I bring a group? Yes Please!  Whether you're gathering the family, a group of friends, or a business/organization for some fall fun - all are welcome! Most of our carving stations are set up for 4-6 individuals, but we usually have a few larger tables too. If you're bringing a large group we highly reccommend pre-registration so we can be sure to have an appropriate space set aside for you.

How much time do we have to carve? We generally alot about 2 hours for each party to carve, but you're encouraged to stick around the brewery, enjoy some beverages, and swap to a regular table once your pumpkins are jack-o-lanterned.

We already have our pumpkins - can we carve those? You sure can! Feel free to BYOP. We do suggest a $5 carving contribution per group if you're able.

What do proceeds/donations from the event fund? Operations for our 2 local lending libraries - in NE MPLS and St. Paul. Most of the funds raised directly support our scholarship fund, which underwrites our limited memberships and provides needs-based scholarships. (On Average we support over 800 Households through scholarship funds - providing access to tools, training, and workspace.) The rest provides general operating support, so we can pay the rent, provide staffing, and invest in our organization.

How important is it to pre-register? We appreciate a heads up to plan our pumpkin count and set up enough carving stations - plus if you pre-register you have a reserved spot and don't have to wait for an open table when it gets busy! That being said - we always welcome walk-ins.
* Sometimes life throws us a curveball, so if you pre-register and need to swap your timeslot we can adjust.

What happens to the pumpkin guts & seeds? We compost all the innards, and you can collect seeds for roasting till your heart's content from our seed of change station. Bring a tupperware or use some of our reclaimed containers.

How do I become an event sponsor? Reach out to programming@mntoollibrary.org and we'll send a sponsorship package!
